Here’s How to Make Marketing Feel Simple

I remember what it felt like when I first started my business.
So many big ideas. So much passion. But when it came to marketing? Oh wow… suddenly everything felt overwhelming.

Should I build a website first?
Do I need to be on every social media platform?
What should I even say to get people interested?

If you’ve been asking yourself the same things, I just want to tell you—you’re not alone. And no, you don’t need a marketing degree or thousands of followers to start making progress.

Marketing is simply about helping the right people find you—and giving them a reason to trust you.

That’s it.

So if you’re feeling stuck, here’s what I want you to know.

You don’t have to do everything. You just have to start somewhere.

And often, the best place to begin is by getting really clear on who you want to serve and what problem you help solve. When you speak directly to the heart of your ideal client, your message starts to land. Suddenly, people nod when they read your post. They click through to your site. They send you that “Hi, I’d like to know more” message.

That’s the power of clarity.

And guess what? You don’t have to be on every platform. Choose one place to show up consistently. It could be Instagram, LinkedIn, email—whatever feels the most natural to you and where your ideal clients actually spend time. Consistency will always beat complexity.

Another thing that helps? Get comfortable showing your face. I know, I know—it can feel awkward at first. But people connect with people, not logos. A friendly face, a genuine caption, a peek into your behind-the-scenes… these are the things that build trust. And trust leads to bookings, referrals, and loyal customers.

Don’t be afraid to repeat yourself. One of the biggest mistakes I see is business owners thinking they have to say something new every time they post. You don’t. In fact, people often need to hear your message several times before they remember it. So talk about your offer, your values, and your why—often.

And here’s a little secret: professional-looking visuals make a huge difference, even in the early days. When your photos are clean, your website is simple but clear, and your content looks intentional—it sets you apart. It tells people you care. You’re serious. You’re ready.

You don’t need flashy branding or a complicated funnel to get started. You just need to show up, help people, and keep learning as you go.

So if you’re still figuring things out, that’s okay. Every expert once started exactly where you are—googling “how to market my business,” feeling a little lost but still showing up anyway.

Just keep going. The clarity will come. The clients will too.

And if you ever need someone to simplify the chaos or help you bring your brand to life with beautiful, scroll-stopping visuals—I’d be honoured to help.

You’ve got this. One step at a time.
